How Should God’s People Live Each Day?
They Should Live Like Jesus...
by making much of God!

We love to make a big deal about many things. Birthdays and Christmas. Learning to ride a bike or how to read. We even make a big deal of beautiful things, like soft, fl uff y snow and colorful rainbows. God’s people like to make a big deal about these things, too. But do you know who God’s people like to make a big deal about most of all? The very same person Jesus made a big deal about: God! Just like Jesus, God’s people want others to know how good and loving and powerful God is. They want others to know of His wonderful gift of being saved through Jesus. They want everything in their lives to show others just how amazing God is. Why? Because God is most wonderful of all. And, because that’s what Jesus did.

Scripture Verse: Psalm 66:1-3
1 Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
2 Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious!
3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!

God’s people love to make a big deal about God! He has been so good to them! They like to shout with joy! They like to sing and tell others what great things God has done! God’s deeds are so awesome! Especially in sending Jesus to save them from their sins. God’s people want to tell others what he has done for them!

How Should God’s People Live Each Day?
They Should Live Like Jesus...
by loving other people as God has loved them!

Jesus loved others with God’s great, amazing love. He loved His enemies and did good to them, even when they hurt Him. He saw people in need and helped them. Jesus loved God’s people most of all, by even dying for them on the cross. He took all of their forever punishment for their sins. Why? So that they could have special closeness with God. And, so they could live happily with God forever. How great is Jesus’ love for people! Jesus wants God’s people to love other people with God’s great, amazing love, too. He wants them to be kind to their enemies and pray for them. He wants them to help people in need. He wants them to tell others how they can be saved and become God’s people, too. He wants them to love each other with a love that puts others first. God’s people need help to live like this. The Holy Spirit works in their hearts to help them to love others like Jesus has loved them: with God’s great, amazing love!

1 Corinthians 13:4-5
“...live a life of love, just as Christ loved us...

Sometimes it is easy to love people. But sometimes it is very hard! God wants His people to keep loving others even when it is hard. God’s Word tells us what that kind of love looks like. It is being patient when someone is taking a long time with their turn. It is saying something kind to someone when you want to say something mean to them. It is being happy with what you have instead of wanting what someone else has. It is not boasting about your new toy that might be better than your friends. It is being happy to hear the truth and unhappy when something bad happens. And it never stops loving others. Love like this is very hard. God’s people need God’s help to love this way!

How Should God's People Live Each Day?
They Should Live Like Jesus...
by telling the good news of Jesus!

Jesus traveled many places telling others how they could become God's people. He told them to turn away from disobeying God and trust in Him as their Savior. After Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, He told His disciples that they should go to every part of the world to tell others about Him. Jesus wanted people everywhere to know how they can become God's people. He wanted people everywhere to have special closeness with God. Jesus was sending God's people to tell them how they could have these wonderful things by trusting in Him as their Savior. Jesus's followers obeyed Him. They traveled farther and farther away from their homes so people everywhere could hear about Jesus. People in more and more places have heard about Jesus, but even now there are still many people who haven't heard. Jesus still wants His people to keep going to every part of the world until everyone has heard about Him. He promises that the Holy Spirit will help them know what to say and how to say it. He promises that He will give them courage to speak. Best of all, He promises to work in the hearts of God's people that they will hear the good news and believe!

Scripture Verse - Mark 16:15
"Jesus said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.'"

Jesus told His people to go out into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. He wants His people to tell everyone the good news of salvation by saying sorry to God and trusting in Him as their Savior!
